You stared at the number that was all too familiar to you. You had seen it sprawled across several walls, stalls, and ceilings before, but it had been a while indeed since you last saw it. It was a strange thing to see, considering you didn’t think that you needed any type of job done desperately.

The last time you had met the young God, he had helped you with the small job of cleaning your house. He put up a hell of a fight when you helped him clean, but nonetheless, he did it with you. He took only five yen, much to your surprise, but in all honesty, there was something about the man that intrigued you.

You sighed quietly as you stuffed your hand into your pocket and pulled out your phone, swiping it open and heading into your contacts. You had saved his number just in case you ever needed to call him again, and you opened the contact entitled, “Yato.”

“Yukine! Come on! We can’t be late!” “Right!” The young man yawned, moving his arms behind his head as he and his young partner wandered the streets of the city. “Although, I’m not entirely sure where we need to be going, anyway. We haven’t gotten a job call in forever.” His blonde-haired partner sighed deeply, fixing the hat he wore upon his head.

“Well, you’ve been leaving your number around, haven’t you, Yato?” Yato nodded and pursed his lower lip. “Of course I have. I leave it every chance I get. Don’t doubt me so much, Yukine.” Yukine chuckled, and moved his hands into his pockets. “Don’t worry, Yato. I learned my lesson about that. Trust me…”

Before the young boy could continue, Yato’s phone sounded in his pocket, and he quickly whipped it out and pressed it against his ear. “Delivery God, Yato, at your service! Always fast, always reliable!” He stopped, the small grin leaving his face. “(Name)?” Yukine blinked at the mention of your name, and he tilted his head. “(Name)? Didn’t she call us several times before?” Yato gave a slight nod, and placed his phone into his pocket. “Come on, we have a job to do.”

You sighed quietly as you placed your phone down on the counter, and you stared at the wall. Why was Yato’s number appearing to you? You weren’t in trouble financially, or physically, or even mentally. You didn’t have any trouble with anyone, nor did anything need to be done chore wise. So… why was his number that only appeared to those in dire need of him appearing to you?

“(Name)?” You squeaked as you heard a voice from beside you, and turned only to see none other than Yato. You sighed deeply in relief, and gave him a soft smile. “Oh hi, Yato. Thanks for coming.” He grinned, and held out his hand. “Come on, (Name). You know the rule!” You shook your head, a quiet laugh leaving your lips as you pulled out a coin that was worth five yen and placed it into his hand.

He flipped it with his thumb, and grabbed it in-between his thumb and forefinger. “Your wish has… wait a minute. You haven’t even told me what you need me to do.” You smiled sheepishly, and glanced over at Yukine who was looking at several paintings you had on your walls. “Well, that’s the thing. Your number has been appearing to me, but I have nothing that needs to be done.”

Yato blinked, and he and Yukine glanced at each other. “That’s weird. My number has never appeared to someone who didn’t need me before…” You nodded, and you slowly twiddled your thumbs. You felt your heart pounding in your chest, and you inwardly cursed. Why were you getting like this? You felt like you had butterflies in your stomach, and your heart was going ten million miles an hour. “Well, since I don’t know what I need… how about I make something up for you?” Yato smiled, stuffing the coin into his bottle where he kept his earnings.

“Sure! But everything you have me do is another five yen!” You laughed, and then tapped your forefinger against your chin. “Hmm… well, I suppose you could help out with my laundry. I wasn’t planning on doing it today, but that’s a start, I suppose.” Yato nodded, and you heard Yukine sigh quietly. “(Name), do we really have to do laundry…?” “Yukine! Don’t complain! Now come on!” Yato exclaimed as he grabbed his young partner by the back of his shirt and dragged him off into your laundry room.

You smiled softly, watching the two boys walk off. You were still trying to figure out exactly why Yato’s number was appearing to you, and your mind couldn’t think of any reason as to why it would. You had first called Yato a few months back, and you became such a frequent contactor that you simply put his number into your phone.

You sat down on your couch, and folded your hands across your middle. Why was your heart pounding? Come to think of it, the past couple of times when you contacted Yato, your body reacted the same way as it was now. You had never felt this feeling before, but you knew that it certainly wasn’t normal.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yato grinned, folding your pants and placing them into a neat pile. “Isn’t this fun, Yukine?” Yukine pursed his lower lip, folding one of your long-sleeved shirt and placing it into his own pile. “Not really… but whatever you say, Yato…” Yato grinned even more and hummed to himself as he continued folding clothes.
He then cried out and placed his hand on the back of his neck. “Yukine! What are you-“ He stopped as he saw his young partner holding one of your bras in his hand, and a slight blush was on his cheeks. “A-alright, I’ll let that one slide. What man wouldn’t think wrong while holding one of those?” Yato said as his own cheeks turned a slight shade of red.
Yukine hurriedly folded the clothing to the best of his ability, and placed it into the pile. He didn’t want to cause Yato any more pain, and he knew if he continued, he would only get worse. He stepped out of the room and walked into the living room where you were, and he saw you staring at the wall. Your (color) eyes seemed to be somewhere far off in the distance, and he sighed softly. “(Name)?” You blinked, forcing yourself out of your trance.
“Sorry, Yukine. I was just thinking…” You watched as the blonde-haired boy sat down beside you, and he turned to look at you. “About why you’re seeing Yato’s number?” You nodded, twiddling your thumbs once again. “Yeah.” Yukine thought about it for a moment, and then gave a slight smile. “(Name), I think I know why you’re seeing Yato’s number.” “Oh? And why is that?”
He told you his reason, and it was enough to make your heart nearly stop in your chest. He was right.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Phew! All done.” Yato looked over his handiwork, and then stretched himself out as he walked out of the laundry room. “(Name)! I finished with your job!” he exclaimed as he walked out into the now empty living room. “(Name)?” “Don’t worry, Yato… I’m right here…” He turned around to see you behind him, and he released a heavy sigh of relief. “(Name)… don’t do that. You scared me…”

You glanced away, and bit your lower lip. “Yato… I know why your number has been appearing to me now.” He tilted his head slightly, his brilliant blue eyes having a questioning look to them. “Oh? And what would that be, (Name)?” You gave a quiet sigh, and walked closer to him, which in turn, made him back up slightly. “You know how your number appears only to those who are in dire need of your assistance?”

He gulped as he felt his back press against the wall, and he nodded. “Y-yeah. Why?” You got closer to him, your face so close to his the tips of your noses brushed against each other’s. “I found out I’m not in dire need of your assistance…” you breathed, which made his body tense up slightly. “I’m in dire need… of you…” With your last few words, you closed the gap between the two of you, your lips pressing gently against the young god’s own.

Yato felt his entire body tense, but quickly relax. Your lips were so warm and soft… they felt rather good to him. Comforting, almost. You felt him return it with a very faint force, and this relieved you greatly. After a moment more, you moved yourself away from the young god, and you looked up at him. “Forgive me, Yato. I simply couldn’t help myself…”

Yato was silent, but he very gently grabbed your hand. “(Name), you haven’t done anything wrong. There is nothing to be forgiven.” Your eyes widened as he leaned down and pressed another kiss upon your lips, and the slowly moved away from you. He looked down at you, one of his small, playful grins upon his face.

But you should know this. Every kiss I give you means five more yen for me.”

I have NO idea what timeframe this takes place in. I have NO idea where Hiyori is either. I just wrote this because Yato is such a cute little man~<3
