Commission: [AU] Levi x Reader: School Daze (2/3)

You were now enjoying your winter break, and happily lying in bed with a cup of warm hot chocolate to your right. Thankfully, your roommate, Sasha Braus, wasn’t trying to drink it like she normally did. She was across the room, happily chomping away on a salami sandwich she had made for herself.

You yawned and stretched yourself out, and then heard Sasha ask you a very mumbled question. You cocked your eyebrow, and gave her a questioning look.

“What was that, Sasha?”

She sighed and tilted her head back as she swallowed what remained in her mouth, and then ran the back of her hand across her lips.

“I asked you when you were gonna admit your feelings to ol’ Ackerman! I mean seriously, everyone and their mother is wondering when the heck you two are gonna get together!”

This made your cheeks flush dark red, and you covered your face with your hands.

“S-Sasha! That’s not funny! Levi and I… we arent’ going to get together! H-he doesn’t even like me!”

Sasha scoffed and ran her fingers through her brown locks.

 “Hmph. You’re in denial. You know he likes you, and you just don’t wanna admit it!”

 You whined quietly, covering your bright red face with your white pillow.

But, now that you thought about it, you had heard the rumors that Sasha was speaking of. A lot of your classmates were assuming that you and Levi were together, and that worried you. What if the other girls got jealous of you and wanted to hurt you? Or make fun of you? And what if the simple rumors of the two of you led to even worse ones, like if you were pregnant with his child?

You really didn’t want that kind of trouble. Now, you wouldn’t mind if you and Levi were actually together in a relationship. Levi could back you up and such, but as long as you weren’t together, you wished to clear that up with everyone. You sighed deeply as you rose to your feet, and Sasha watched as you padded over to your door.

“Hey, where ya goin’?”

“I’m going to go see Levi. I need to fix things with him, after all…”

you replied as you hurried out the door and shut it behind you. You felt your heart pound in your chest as you made your way down the hall, the sound of your feet hitting the floor echoing in your ears. You didn’t want to hurt Levi, but you knew that if things weren’t said, even worse problems could arise whenever the two of you went back for your next semester of classes.

You finally came to a stop outside of the man’s doorway, and gave a gulp. You could hear him and his roommate, Auruo Bossard, talking about something inside, and you pressed your ear to the door.

“Levi, you can’t just leave people hanging like this, you know that right?”

“Tch. Says you. You’ve been hanging around Athena for the same amount of time I’ve been with (Name). And have you said anything to her yet?”

“H-hey! Leave Athena out of this. I was planning on asking her out today, actually.”

“Hmph. Well, good luck to you. The two of you seem extremely compatible. Anyone who can put up with your arrogance and finds it ‘cute’ is a keeper.”

“Tch. Just hurry up and ask the poor girl out. Here. Let’s make a deal. I’ll ask Athena out today if you ask (Name) out, got it?”

“Fine. You’re on.”

You squeaked as you heard the knob of the door turn, and you pressed yourself against the wall to avoid being spotted by Levi’s friend. You watched as he walked down the hall, and then took a deep breath before rapping your knuckles against Levi’s door. As expected, it took less than a few seconds for the raven-haired man to open the door. Unbeknownst to you, he noticed that you had a light blush spread across your cheeks.

“Hello, (Name),”

 he said curtly as he gestured for you to come inside. You quickly followed his command, and took a seat on his bed. He sat down beside you after shutting his door, and the both of you refused to look at one another. After a long while of silence, Levi cleared his throat.

“So, why did you come to see me, (Name)?”

You gulped, remembering what you had overheard him and Auruo talking about outside of his room.

“Well… I wanted to come and talk to you about something. Apparently our classmates are starting to spread some rumors about us…”

This made Levi looked over at you, a look of slight confusion plastered on that face you had always admired so. He then ran his slender fingers through his raven-locks, a heavy sigh leaving his lips.

“So, what you’re telling me is that our classmates are assuming that we are together?”

You gave a small nod, your (color) hair fluttering about with the movement of your head. You tried to avoid eye contact with the man sitting beside you, seeing as how your cheeks were already red enough.

“Yes, Levi. I’m also worried that they’ll start spreading rumors that I’m pregnant or something. You know how idiotic college students can be. And, I know that you don’t need that kind of worry, especially when we aren’t even together…”

Those last few words left your lips in a small sigh, and little to your knowledge, Levi noticed it. He turned to look at you, and his steely grey eyes seemed to draw you to look in his direction. When you were finally looking at him, you felt his slightly calloused hand place itself upon your cheek, and you retreated slightly because of it.

“(Name), I know you were standing outside my door throughout the whole conversation between Auruo and myself.”

You flushed darker red than you already were, and quickly moved your gaze away from the raven-haired man.

“I-I’m sorry, Levi… I just couldn’t keep myself from hearing. You know just as well as I do that I’m a very attentive person.”

He shook his head, and you could have sworn you saw a faint hint of a smile cross his lips before they returned to their normal solemnness.

“(Name), I have something to tell you about those rumors, and I hope it doesn’t bother you too much.”

You tilted your head slightly, not comprehending what he was saying to you. What could he know about the rumors that he didn’t even know about before you had told him?

His free hand moved to cup your other cheek, and his eyes seemed to peer directly into your very heart and soul.

“All of those rumors, perhaps except one, are about to become true.”
